There is something truly magical about welcoming a new baby into the world. Those tiny fingers, sleepy yawns, delicate eyelashes, and little stretches change so quickly. Before you know it, they're smiling, crawling, and exploring everything around them. Newborn photography allows us to pause those first precious days before they become cherished memories.
While newborn sessions are traditionally photographed within the first two to three weeks of life, I understand that life doesn't always go according to plan. Recovering from delivery, adjusting to life with a new baby, or simply finding time to schedule a session can make those first weeks fly by. That's why I'm happy to photograph sleepy newborns well beyond the traditional window. With a little patience, good timing around a nap, and plenty of experience, beautiful sleepy portraits are often possible up to three months of age.
As a mother myself, I understand that babies set the pace. If your little one needs to eat, be changed, cuddled, or simply take a few extra minutes to settle, that's perfectly okay. I never rush these sessions. Creating a calm, relaxed environment allows everyone—including parents—to enjoy the experience.
Whether you're dreaming of timeless, gently posed portraits or relaxed lifestyle images that capture your family together at home, we'll create a session that reflects your style. I offer both in-home and studio sessions, and my natural light studio creates a soft, peaceful atmosphere without the bright flashes that can startle little ones. I also have a growing collection of wraps, blankets, baskets, and carefully selected props for boys, girls, siblings, and twins.
One of my favorite ways to document your baby's first year is through my First Year Collection. Most families choose a combination of maternity, newborn, six-month, and first birthday portraits, but the package is completely flexible. Some families prefer milestones at three or nine months, while others save a session for toddlerhood. The goal is simple: to tell your baby's story in a way that fits your family.
There is no right or wrong way to remember your baby's first year—only your way. My job is to create photographs you'll look back on years from now and remember not only what your baby looked like, but exactly how it felt to hold them in your arms.

There has always been something magical about twins.
Maybe it's because they share a bond unlike any other, or maybe it's because, as kids, so many of us secretly wished we had a twin ourselves. Whatever it is, there is something incredibly special about welcoming two little lives into the world at the same time.
I've had the joy of photographing several sets of twins over the years, but one family holds a special place in my heart. When the boys were newborns, their parents asked me to create a portrait of them nestled together around a baseball, with the stitching forming a tiny heart between them. It quickly became one of their favorite photographs.
A year later, they came back with one simple request: "Can we recreate it?"
Of course, the boys were no longer sleepy newborns. They were curious, busy, full of personality, and far more interested in exploring than holding still! But that's exactly what made recreating the image so much fun. Instead of trying to make an identical photograph, we recreated the spirit of the original while embracing who they had become.
Today, those little boys are growing up, and I've continued photographing their family through the years. One of the greatest joys of working with families over such a long period of time is being able to revisit the photographs that mean the most to them. I remember how we created them the first time, and together we find new ways to honor those memories while celebrating the people the children are becoming.
Whether it's recreating a favorite newborn portrait, returning to the same beach every summer, or watching babies become teenagers, these sessions remind me that photography isn't just about preserving a single moment—it's about telling the story of a family as it unfolds.
And to every parent of twins, triplets, or any set of multiples...you amaze me.
Caring for one newborn is a full-time adventure. Caring for two—or three—is nothing short of extraordinary. Your days may be filled with double the diapers, double the feedings, and double the chaos, but they're also filled with double the snuggles, double the giggles, and double the love.

The Little Girl Who Inspired My Love of Newborn Photography
Every photographer has a favorite subject. Mine just happened to be my first baby.
When Eden was born, my world changed in more ways than I ever could have imagined. Like many first-time parents, I photographed absolutely everything—every sleepy yawn, every tiny finger wrapped around mine, every stretch, every smile, and every little expression that seemed to change from one day to the next. At the time, I was also expanding my newborn photography business, so she happily became my little model as I experimented with new ideas, wraps, poses, and backdrops.
Looking back now, I'm so grateful I took the time.
Those photographs have become some of my most treasured possessions. They remind me not only of what she looked like, but of how those early days felt—the overwhelming love, the excitement of becoming a mom, and the realization that babies don't stay babies for very long.
Becoming a parent changed the way I photograph newborns. I understand how precious those first days are, but I also understand how overwhelming they can be. Sleepless nights, endless feedings, doctor's appointments, and simply finding your rhythm as a family can make those first weeks disappear in the blink of an eye. That's why I believe there should be room for grace. If life doesn't allow for a session during those first couple of weeks, that's okay. With patience, experience, and a baby-led approach, beautiful photographs can still be created as your little one grows.
As a mom, I know babies don't follow a schedule—they follow their own. That's why every newborn session moves at your baby's pace. We stop for feedings, cuddles, diaper changes, and whatever else your little one needs. My goal is never to rush the experience, but to create a calm, relaxed environment where parents can simply enjoy these fleeting moments while I preserve them.
Today, it's hard to believe the tiny baby who spent so much time in front of my camera is growing into such an incredible young lady. Looking through those early photographs reminds me just how quickly childhood passes and why I believe so deeply in preserving it.
Eden may have started as my favorite little model, but she became something even more important. She reminded me that photographs aren't just about creating beautiful images—they're about holding onto a season of life that slips away far too quickly.
If there's one thing motherhood has taught me, it's this: you'll never regret taking the picture. One day, those tiny fingers won't fit in your hand anymore, those sleepy newborn snuggles will be a distant memory, and these photographs will become priceless reminders of where your family's story began.
