Your wedding day is so much more than a ceremony. It's the beginning of a new family, the joining of two histories, and a day surrounded by the people who have loved and supported you throughout your lives. Months—or even years—of planning come together in what feels like the blink of an eye. The flowers will eventually fade, the music will end, and the cake will be gone, but your photographs will become the way you relive one of the happiest days of your life for generations to come.

When couples look back on their wedding photographs years later, they certainly remember the dress, the first kiss, and the beautiful venue. But it's often the moments they never expected to see that become the most treasured. The flower girl who bursts into tears halfway down the aisle. Your nephew proudly showing you the petals he carried. Your dad quietly taking a deep breath before walking you down the aisle. Your grandmother reaching for your grandfather's hand during the ceremony. Friends embracing after the recessional. The way your new spouse smiles at you when they think no one else is watching. Those genuine, unscripted moments tell the story of your wedding in a way that posed photographs simply can't.
That documentary approach has become the heart of my photography over the past twenty years. I don't spend the day directing every interaction or asking people to recreate moments. Instead, I quietly observe, anticipate emotion, and blend into the background so your family and friends can simply enjoy celebrating with you. Many guests tell me afterward that they hardly noticed I was photographing them at all, and that's exactly the goal. The more comfortable everyone feels, the more authentic your photographs become.
Of course, I also know when to step in and take charge. Family portraits are organized efficiently so everyone can get back to celebrating, wedding party portraits are relaxed and enjoyable, and couple portraits are designed to feel natural rather than overly posed. I want you to spend your wedding day with the people you love—not standing in front of my camera for hours. My job is to guide you when you need direction and quietly disappear when you don't.
For more than two decades, I've photographed weddings throughout Rhode Island and beyond. Newport has become one of my favorite places to work, with unforgettable venues including Castle Hill Inn, Rosecliff, OceanCliff, 41° North, Gurney's Newport Resort & Marina, Glen Manor House, Newport Beach House, and celebrations overlooking the Cliff Walk, Ocean Drive, and Newport Harbor. I've also photographed weddings at Linden Place in Bristol, Quidnessett Country Club, Roger Williams Park Botanical Center, the Providence Public Library, Easton's Beach, Quonset O Club, private estates, yacht clubs, beach clubs, historic inns, and barns throughout Rhode Island and southeastern Massachusetts.
My camera has also traveled well beyond Rhode Island. I've photographed destination weddings in Boston, Cape Cod, Connecticut, New Hampshire, and Southern California, and I genuinely love traveling for weddings. Whether you're exchanging vows on a quiet beach, inside a historic mansion, beneath a sailcloth tent overlooking Narragansett Bay, or halfway across the country, I'd be honored to come along and document your story.
One of the things couples often mention after receiving their gallery is how complete it feels. They remember seeing the major moments unfold, but they didn't realize how much they had missed while they were living the day. During cocktail hour they were greeting guests while I was photographing conversations across the room. While they were on the dance floor, I was capturing grandparents laughing together, children playing under the tables, parents wiping away tears, and lifelong friends sharing stories. Those moments happen only once, and preserving them is just as important to me as photographing the ceremony itself.
During full-day wedding coverage, I don't book another event. My entire day belongs to you. That allows me to photograph every chapter of your celebration—from the excitement of getting ready until the dance floor is full. I also make it a personal goal to photograph every guest in attendance, creating both beautiful portraits and genuine candid images whenever possible. Every family has someone who insists they don't want their picture taken, but somehow, by the end of the evening, they're usually smiling right back at my camera.
If you're planning an intimate Rhode Island elopement, I offer shorter collections designed specifically for smaller celebrations. It's amazing how much can be documented in just a few hours. Whether you're inviting twenty guests or two hundred, every wedding deserves thoughtful storytelling, careful attention, and photographs that feel true to who you are.
My hope is that years from now, your wedding album won't simply remind you of what your day looked like—it will transport you back to exactly how it felt. The excitement. The anticipation. The overwhelming joy. The hugs that lasted just a little longer than expected. The laughter that echoed through the room. The quiet moments you never even knew happened. Those are the memories that become priceless, and it would be an incredible honor to preserve them for you. most treasured. The flower girl who bursts into tears halfway down the aisle. The Chandler is one of Newport's most iconic wedding venues, and it's easy to understand why. Nestled along the famous Cliff Walk in Newport, Rhode Island, it offers breathtaking views overlooking the beach and Narragansett Bay. The combination of dramatic rocky coastline, beautifully manicured lawns, and elegant architecture creates a timeless setting for couples dreaming of a classic coastal wedding. Every corner of the property is thoughtfully designed, providing endless opportunities for beautiful portraits, while the attentive staff goes above and beyond to ensure every detail of the day runs seamlessly. It's always a joy to photograph weddings at The Chandler.
One of the things I loved most about working with this couple was how willing they were to trust the process. Like many couples, they weren't quite sure about some of my suggestions at first. Rather than trying to force perfectly posed photographs, I encouraged them to interact naturally—to walk together, laugh together, whisper something silly, and simply enjoy being in each other's company. They embraced the experience, and little by little, they forgot about the camera altogether.
Those are the moments I live for.
Many of my favorite photographs from their wedding aren't the perfectly posed portraits. They're the quiet smiles, the laughter that couldn't be planned, the way they naturally leaned into one another, and the little expressions that only happen when two people feel completely comfortable together. Those images tell a much richer story than simply documenting what everyone looked like that day—they capture who they were as a couple.
Weddings are filled with so many moments that couples never actually get to see. Months of planning go into choosing the flowers, invitations, heirloom jewelry, table settings, and all of the thoughtful details that make the day uniquely yours. While those details deserve to be beautifully documented, some of my favorite photographs are often the candid moments unfolding around them—the laughter during the reception, grandparents sharing a quiet conversation, children dancing, friends embracing, and the genuine joy that happens when no one realizes they're being photographed. Those are the memories that become priceless over time, and I believe they deserve just as much attention as the formal portraits.
That's always my goal. I'll absolutely create timeless portraits you'll proudly hang on your walls, but I also want to preserve the personality behind your relationship. Years from now, I want you to look back and remember how you made each other laugh, how excited you felt, and how effortless it was just to be together. Those authentic moments are the ones that only become more meaningful with time, and they're the photographs I treasure creating most.

One of the things I love most about photographing weddings is that no two celebrations are ever the same. Some couples dream of a grand ballroom filled with hundreds of guests. Others choose something much quieter—an intimate ceremony with only their closest family, followed by a few hours exploring the places they love most together.
This wonderful couple chose a relaxed Newport elopement, beginning downtown before heading to Second Beach to celebrate along the Rhode Island coastline. We also spent time creating family portraits before setting off for photographs that were focused entirely on the two of them. Even though their wedding day was only a few hours long, we were able to create an incredibly diverse gallery that felt every bit as complete as many full-day weddings.
What made their photographs so special wasn't the location—it was them.
From the very beginning, they embraced the experience. They laughed easily, enjoyed being together, and trusted my guidance every step of the way. Whenever I suggested trying something a little different, they were excited to give it a chance. Sometimes that meant walking instead of standing still. Sometimes it meant slowing down for a quiet moment or simply focusing on each other instead of the camera.
That willingness to be present with one another made all the difference.
Instead of worrying about posing perfectly, they spent the afternoon enjoying their wedding day. They talked, laughed, explored, and celebrated together, and the photographs naturally reflected who they are as a couple. Their personalities shine through every image because they weren't trying to create a perfect photograph—they were simply creating memories together.
Those are exactly the kinds of couples I love working with. You don't need to know how to pose or have experience in front of a camera. You simply need to trust the process and be willing to enjoy the moment. I'll take care of the rest.
Whether we're photographing a three-hour Newport elopement, a beach ceremony at Second Beach, or a full-day wedding celebration anywhere in Rhode Island or beyond, my goal is always the same: to create photographs that feel authentic to your relationship. Years from now, I want you to remember not only where you were, but who you were together in that moment—and that's something no location alone can ever create.
